SURVIVAL GUIDEI offer the following points of advice to you, my student, to help guarantee the best opportunity for success this year. These points are not intended to substitute school policies; but rather, is merely advice on how to adjust to the high school way of life and to accept responsibility for learning.
Virtue is its own reward. Do the right things on a regular basis and good things will happen naturally. Time is a valuable commodity. Be sure to use your time wisely in and out of class. Have your materials every day. You cannot use your time effectively if you do not have all of your resources. Nothing is more important than completing your assignments and getting them turned in on time. Paying attention in class and studying on a regular basis run a close second and third. Nothing destroys a grade faster than a zero. You are responsible for finding out what work you missed any time you are tardy or gone from class either from your teacher or a peer. Work must be made up in a timely fashion, as outlined in your policies and procedures, including quizzes and exams. All work INDIVIDUALLY assigned must be completed on your own. I am more than happy to answer any questions you may have or to assist you; that is why I am here. You are not allowed to work with peers on individual assignments. Remember the HONOR CODE oath! Small group setting is designed specifically for group work. Every member will have an assigned role to fulfill specified project based learning. When everyone does their part, the product end result is fabulous! Always do your part! |
